Romeo and Juliet Act 1 Scenes 1, 2, 3

Scene one starts out with Sampson and Gregory Shouting at each other, but then Benolvio a Montague and Tybalt a Capulet Started fighting in the street. Then Capulet and Montague come out in the street and Capulet draws his sword and wants to fight Montague but Lady Montague won't let him fight. The Prince of Verona enters the stage and tells them that if they fight in his street again then their "lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."  At the end of scene one, Romeo comes out looking very depressed. Benolvio questions him about what has made him feel sad. He finds out that Romeo is sulking over a girl that he loves but does not love him back. When Romeo is asked to help a Capulet servant read the invitation he sees that Rosaline will be at this masked party. Romeo is in love with Rosaline.  Benolvio and Romeo decide to go. Later that same day Lady Capulet tells Juliet that Count Paris has proposed marriage between him and Juliet. Lady Capulet praises him highly but Juliet is not very interested at the moment. She tells he mom that she has never even thought of marriage but she will consider him if that is what her parents wish.
