In scene 1.5, Romeo says, "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." Romeo exclaims this when he sees Juliet for the first time. I like this quote because it shows how much of a romantic Romeo is. He makes grant and poetic statements whenever he sees someone he loves. He is able to forget about Rosaline immediately after seeing another girl. This quote also shows how Romeo is truly in love with Juliet, because he says it is the first time he has truly been in love.
Prompt G:
Romeo: I was so worried about getting into the dance, hoping no one would notice that I was a Montegue. Once we got in, I was so relieved. However, I was still depressed over the loss of my love, Rosaline. Oh how I wished she would profess her love to me, but alas, it is not so. There I was, sulking around the ball, when I saw her. Standing there alone, the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life. The word, Rosaline, had completely left my memory, and all I knew was that I had to go talk to her. After getting a few kisses, and falling even more in love, I found out that she was a Capulet. How my heart dropped after I heard the news. However, I will not let this stop me, and I swear we will be together, in life or in death.
