Prompt A:
Scene 4 begins with Romeo, Mercutio, Benvolio, and other people in front of the Capulet's home. They are about to enter the party, but Romeo is hesitant to go inside. He talks about a dream that he had that warned him against attending the party. Mercutio tells him that it is absurd that he is thinking that way and goes on a rant about love and dreams. Romeo sets his misgivings aside and enters the party with his friends. Tybalt sees Romeo in the party and is furious, but he is forced to calm down by Capulet. Romeo meets Juliet for the first time and they instantly fall in love, without either knowing who the other truly is. When they find out that the person they fell in love with is their blood enemy, they are both very shameful and disappointed, but that does not stop the love they feel for eachother.
Prompt G:
(Romeo)
I had many, many worries about coming to the party at the Capulet's tonight. I was timid because of the dream I had the previous night. It made me think about whether coming to this part is really a good idea or if it would all end badly. When I expressed this to Mercutio, he began to explain what love really is and why we should not listen to our dreams. It made some of my fears go away, but I feel he could have been less harsh about it. When I finally entered the party, I was taken immediately by a young woman I met. Little did I know that she was the daughter of my family's sworn enemy. I do not know whether I will let that stop me from seeing her again, however. I am in love with Juliet.
