Act III Scenes 1 & 2, Regret

Prompt C:
Nurse- Are you very angry at Romeo for killing Tybalt? Or are you more concerned about the affect it will have on his and Julie'ts love?
Romeo- Do you really believe that if you hadn't met Juliet that you would have fought Tybalt?
Benvolio- Do you wish that maybe you could have taken Mercutio's place?
Tybalt- Why do you always have to start a fight?
Mercutio- Do you regret not listening to Benvolio when he suggested to go indoors?

Prompt B:
I can relate the fight scene to modern day brawls that happen all over. A lot of fights break out between gangs because the other gang insulted their pride or came on to their undisputed territory. Their fights often break out into scenes of violence, but their choice of weapon is a gun not a sword. Romeo tries to intervene with the two fighting but Mercutio ends up getting killed. This is also what happens in present time, sometimes when you try to diffuse a situation you end you being the catalyst to even more destruction.

  1. I like how you connected the fight in the book to real life. I also like what you said about how the person trying to diffuse a situation can sometimes make it worse.
