Act 3 scene 1-2 A Bloody day

Prompt A
Mercutio and Benvolio are out walking around and they meet Tybalt. They are insulting each other untill Romeo comes on stage and then Tybalt wants to fight Romeo. Romeo denies his request to fight so Mercutio decides to fight for him instead. Tybalt kills Mercutio and then Romeo kills Tybalt. When Juliet hear that Romeo killed her cousin she at first is mourning the loss of him and curses out Romeo. After a while she decides to be sad about Romeo being banished and she forgives him for killing her cousin.

1 Why does Tybalt want to fight Romeo
2 When Romeo kills Tybalt do they have a fight or does he just kill Tybalt without fighting him
3 Why does Juliet just forgive Romeo for killing her Cousin. Is her love for Romeo stronger than her love for her family.
4 How does she just decide to stop feeling mad at Romeo
5 If Romeo has been banished how does the nurse bring him to Juliet

  1. Awesome summary of last night's reading! Also, I think your third question is really interesting because I thought it was weird that Juliet decided to forgive Romeo for killing her cousin; maybe she didn't like Tybalt.

  2. 1. I believe Tybalt is still upset at Romeo for crashing the party.
    2. I interpreted it as if Romeo and Tybalt engaged in a fight to death.
    3. Yes. She loves Romeo ten-thousand times more than Tybalt, for she says that she would rather have ten thousand slain Tybalts than a slain Romeo.
    4. She realizes their love is more important than her anger.
    5. Its the 17th century. He can put a wig on and no one will reconeze him.
