Acts 1-3 Romeo and Juliet

Prompt B

What is happening in the play reminds me of a comic series called Archie comics. In the Archie Comics, there is a love triangle with three of the characters, Betty, Veronica, and Archie. Both Betty and Veronica are after Archie's affection. Betty is the one who truly loves Archie and Veronica just likes Archie to have him around, but Archie is more drawn to Veronica than Betty and, at times, is seeming oblivious to Betty's advances. This reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because Romeo and Paris are both after Juliet's affection. Romeo is truly in love with her, whereas from my understanding of the reading, it seems like Paris is not quite as in love with Juliet. Juliet is like Archie because she is not aware of the feelings Romeo has for her.

Prompt E

This is a good symbolic representation because the characters Romeo, Paris, and Juliet seem to be in sort of a love triangle.

  1. I think that your connection to Archie comics is perfect, I used to love those. But Juliet doesn't really like Paris or the thought of marriage at all.

  3. I like the picture, kind of reminds me of twilight. Your prompt and your picture really connects to the setting in the beginning of Romeo and Juliet.
