It proves that the physical attraction they ad can fade after one has done something that the other doesn't like. Now they must work to make their relationship work.
I totally agree with the paragraph that you wrote regarding the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. It is a very complicated relationship and they must face many conflicts, but they are still madly in love with each other.
