Prompt D
Act 2, scene 2- Romeo says "With love's light wings did I o'erperch these walls, for stony limits cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt. Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me." This helps us to see that Romeo is really in love with Juliet and that their love is stronger that anything or anyone. It also tells us that their love will never be able to be tear apart and that nothing can stop him from loving her.
Act 2, scene 3- Friar Lawrence says " Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, that thou didst love so dear, So soon forsaken? Young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts but in their eyes." When he says this he means that young people might say they love someone and that special someone will always be their special someone but is not true. He explains how young people are only attracted to each other and that is not true love as example when Romeo said he loved Roseline but then suddenly fall in love with Juliet.
Prompt F
Romeo and Juliet are profoundly in love with each other and feel that they have know each other for a long time. They feel that their love will defeat every obstacle there will come in between them two. I think that they don't know if they are really in love, they will just be physical attracted toward each other making them to think that they are in love. When Romeo and Friar Lawrence are talking Friar Lawrence agrees that they might be only in love with their physical appearances but not truly in love. He shows his greement when he says," Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, that thou didst love so dear, So soon forsaken? Young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts but in their eyes(89)."
I agree with your hypothesis about Romeo and Juliet's love. It is very likely that it may only be physical attraction, since they have barely talked or gotten to know each other at all. I don't think we'll ever know if this relationship would have ended up working out in the long term because of the tragic ending.
